Need Help Studying for SAT or ACT?
Taking the SAT or ACT is always a stressful event, and preparing for it can seem overwhelming. Purchasing a study guide may be one way that you can start to prepare for the test. Petersons, Barrons, College Board, Kaplans and the ACT program all publish study guides that you may buy from your local bookstore or online. They range in price from around 15-25 dollars.
A second option may be to attend an SAT or ACT Prep class. There is usually a fee involved to take these classes outside of the high school setting. However, the North Carolina Virtual Public School offers an SAT Prep class as part of their curriculum, and this option would be free of charge. See Ms. Breslin in the Counseling Office to discuss this option. This class is taken on a regular semester schedule, so prior planning is crucial for this choice.
Finally, there are also many online alternatives to help you study. Some of these are free, and others charge a fee. Please see the table below for some options in online study.
